This is "MY HONEY BOY".... that is what I ALWAYS called him... David and I had a very special relationship.... there is a bond between Mom and Son... and a different one between Mom and daughter... I have a wonderful daughter... David's sister.. Dyan....

David passed away from a drug overdose... I am a Mom who did not see "enough" of what was "really" going on... I DO BLAME MYSELF FOR HIS DEATH.... I think I could have been more aware....

David was a dream come true.... his Dad and I could not have children so we put in for adoption... 6 years later... David arrived.... he was 2 months old when we got him.. he was a size 0.... very tiny baby... then 3 years and 3 days later... God gave us a daughter... Dyan... we got to pick her up at the hospital... she was 3 days old.. soooooo my husband and I decided that I should quit my job of 18 years with General Motors and stay home and raise our children... so I did... it was very hard for me at first... I was use to being with adults... now I am a stay at home Mom with these two small children... David was now...3 years old... for the first 3 years I was very lucky to have my cousin baby-sit for me.... SHE WAS THE BEST.... and I always knew he was taken care of... she had a son Jason... and he and David became best friends... but age 8 Jason passed away of CF..... the first real tragedy in my life.... I loved Jason like he was my own... but the school Jason attended.. he was in the first grade... planted a tree in his memory.... and the EXACT minute we planted that tree... Dyan was born.... so we KNEW Dyan was meant to be with us.. so we named Dyan after my cousin Dianna.....and her middle name is Kay after my sister.....I LOVE YOU DYAN....
We raised our kids in the church... they attended a Christian school until they went into 6th grade for David and 4th grade for Dyan.... David went through the DARE program both in Christian school and public school.... his Dad and I were very much involved in the Christian school.... but found in the public school it was not so easy to do.... but I did stay in contact with all the teachers etc....
David's Dad is a smoker.... David would get so mad at him for smoking... he even gave him a picture once to show him what his lungs look like from smoking... so I was SURE David would not smoke... he hated to be around anyone smoking...
As David was growing up.... he was so cute.... and such a loving kid... he ALWAYS told us he loved us...ALWAYS... he said his prayers at night... we always had prayer at the table... and he was SAVED.... I am sooooooooo thankful of that... he would study his Bible... he KNEW the Bible.... he could find anything you wanted to know....
I have a book ... My Book about Me.... by Dr. Seuss.... here is what he had to say in that book...First of all... I am a boy... my name is David....I weigh 27 lbs... and am 38 inches tall...I have 10 teeth up and 10 teeth down...he drew a picture of his hair.. and I drew his hand... he did all this at age 3... April 1981...I also, drew around his foot...he drew a picture of his nose and his eyes were blue...he did not wear glasses but (Nov. of 1989.. he started... then went to contacts)... he did not have freckles, he lives in the United States, his phone number was 453-9188, his house was in the country, his house had 10 windows, 4 beds, 18 pictures on the wall, 3 steps, 32 folks in the house...(yes, we counted them!!)...3 keyholes, 15 lights, 4 clocks, 3 mirrors, 3 cold water faucets and 3 hot, said he ate like a cow, his favorite food was pancakes, and his least favorite was potatoes, his birthday was April 21, his favorite teacher (he wrote this in later) was Miss Bonnie King... his 1st public school teacher, he liked reading best and English least, he was a very good student, he was right handed, and his feet were ticklish, his favorite pets were Kara the kids Poodle and Fluffy their cat, his favorite color was yellow (which changed to blue), he got autograph's from an Uncle, Fred Nutter and his Aunt Claudie, his grandmother Arlene Hall and grandfather Albert Buckner, his best friend was Daniel McKown, his longest walk was 15 miles at a walk-a-thon in 3rd grade at Kokomo Christian School, his longest car trip... 2500 miles a trip to FL to see his Ma & Pa and Aunt & Uncle, his longest plane trip... to FL as well, his longest fish was 1 foot and 6 inches, he collected hot wheels (and later baseball cards), he also loved coins, his favorite sport was fishing and this was for all his life), his favorite song was "zoo song", he sang in the tub, could not whistle, and he loved the guitar, he said he was not so neat in his room, and never talked in his sleep, he like to get up at 6:30AM, he could make noises like a rooster, dog, cat, goat, sheep, goose, train and a frog, when he was 3 he wanted to be a farmer, when he was 12 he wanted to be a Doctor, he was glad he was not a giraffe... well, this is the Dr. Seuss book... I wrote all this because my kids both had these books... they loved them... showed them to friends when they came over... it also has their picture on the front of them... when they wrote these books.. I have so much to say.
